Diabolica & Saint and Sinner White Wines

A few months ago the Mr. and I were on a staycation in Miramichi, NB and stopped by the local liqupr store prior to checking in at the Rodd Miramichi River Hotel to get ourselves some wine for the weekend. These were the two bottles we chose:

Name: Diabolica White
Country: Canada
Vintage: 2013
Price: $19

Why did I decide to try this wine? This was the first that we tried. I chose it based on the label and it being classified as simply “white wine” intrigued me.

Would I prefer one glass or indulge in the bottle? Glass. It was good, but I need to try it again to really know if it would be “bottle” classification worthy.

What shoes would I wear drinking this wine? Dainty yellow suede shoes

How would I describe the wine? I expected the wine to be a “house wine” pinot grigio of sorts, but it surprised me with its fruity, light and sweet flavours. It was packed with hints of pineapple and citrus and just a warning… it tastes stronger the warmer it became in my glass.

Name: Saint & Sinner
Country: Canada
Varietal: Pinot Grigio
Price: $13

Why did I decide to try this wine? It was from Canada and it had a cool name. Pretty scientific reason, eh?!

Would I prefer one glass or indulge in the bottle? Bottle. It was a great price and tasted like something I would purchase again.

What shoes would I wear drinking this wine? Black & white heels that make a statement.

How would I describe the wine? Oddly enough the wine almost tasted “floral”… it was fresh with a little bit of sweetness but a small bite on the finish. In other words, exactly as the name would have you believe… saint, oh…wait a second… 😉

I love the shoe association, that is such a fun way to approach it! I also feel like that yellow kitten heel is beyond adorable!
