We went to a reception hosted by the Alabama State Port Authority at the GulfQuest Museum: National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico. They had the museum open for us to explore throughout the evening and so of course I made use of the opportunity to explore.
You can get a sense of the museum from watching this little video tour I put together, but my favorite part was hands down the “tug driving” where you control an tug boat in the water and you are supposed to bring a barge or a ship to the dockside to be loaded/unloaded. Whether you work at a port or not this was just simply a lot of fun!
When visiting Mobile, Alabama this museum needs to be on your “must see” list! Oh, and yes… it would be fun for the whole family!

This post was not sponsored – it was an museum I visited during a work function,
I LOVED it and wanted to share it with all of you.
A special thank you to the ladies from Port of Gulfport
who explored the museum with me, missed dinner and helped make this video possible.
