Have you noticed that everything in design is white these days? I love a good white canvas to work from but have to admit that when we toured our home before we bought it we thought the bathroom could be so much more than the outdated white-washed vanity made it seem.
I wasn’t about to give up though… I knew there had to be a way to update the vanity without costing us a small fortune and still being able to achieve the look we wanted. Which was also par of the challenge; we weren’t really sure what look we wanted but knew we would know it when we saw it.
I went through Pinterest for days to find DIY ideas, custom built ideas and more but didn’t find anything that I loved or seemed worth the effort. Then, the light bulb came on! Serge. Why didn’t I think of him earlier?! Serge from Les Armoires Serge Haché had built a custom desk area and built in cabinets for us in our former home (that we rented from my parents for 9 years) to match the kitchen. We loved what he did, how easy it was to work with him and his easy going style.

Through the process the Mr was looking through the sample books Serge left for us to choose from and saw this grey shiny material. We knew it was a bit of a risk and not conventional for a bathroom, but we went for it! We are thrilled with the transformation and Serge’s advice to use the existing vanity rather than starting from scratch. The bathroom now has much more a glamorous feel than what was there before – we definitely brought our personality to the project.

Serge and I had so much fun working together we decided why stop once the project was complete?! A special thank you for sponsoring this post and always providing great solutions for our spaces.
As always, all opinions are entirely my own.
